Vintage Cottage surrounded by window boxes of flowers, and Guest House a few feet behind it are just steps away from Lake Thompson (11 miles long, max depth of 121', and several islands). Since the lake is spring fed by the Poland Springs aquifer, it's considered to be one of the most pristine glacial lakes in Maine. We are on the East side and so we get spectacular sunsets. Peaceful, private setting among 100+ yr old trees, lush ferns, old stone walls that were built before the trees grew. We have no ambient light so you see lots of stars, and no background noise - you won't believe how quiet it is! We recently reworked the cottage floor plan and refurbished it with all new thermopane windows - adding many to be able to see woods from every room; completely new kitchen and bath with tub/shower; 3/4' pine paneling throughout; porch surrounded by casement windows/screens; new roof; 10' pine tree bear sculpture... and we aren't done yet! Cottage is open from the kitchen to the family room which has a cathedral ceiling with paddle fan and clerestory windows providing lots of light and wonderful views from the loft. Great for entertaining. All mattresses in the cottage and the guest house are new within a few years. The cottage 1st floor bedroom has 1 dbl bed, and a wall of windows that looks out on the old stone wall, huge pine trees, the lake, and unbelievable sunsets. It has a cathedral ceiling, two skylights and a paddle fan. Duck families will visit, loons will serenade you, and we have often sited deer, moose, foxes, etc. Very good fishing for salmon, lake trout and bass. Fernwood Camp (girl's camp) owns a large land buffer between us and so we have a lot of privacy and the land feels as much like ours as theirs. Fernwood sprays for mosquitoes too which is great. The property will be cleaned before you arrive and we ask that you leave it as you found it, and remove your own trash - dump is less than a mile away. There is also a level seating area next to the lake perfect for enjoying the relaxing view, watching your kids swim, taking in the sunrise or enjoying an evening cocktail. We also have a newer dock featuring a place to tie up a boat and stairs that offer easy access into the sandy bottom wading area of the lake. The lake in front of our home is very shallow. At the end of the dock it is about 4 feet. Perfect for swimming (especially for children), floating around or kayaking / canoeing. It is not deep enough however for diving or jumping off the dock. Beyond the wading area the bottom does get mucky, very typical for Maine lakes. If you bring a motor boat, you will need to be very careful navigating the shallow cove out to the deeper waters of the lake. We welcome one dog, no more than 50 lbs. For larger than 50lb dogs, or for additional dogs, please contact owner to negotiate options. Dogs are required to be on leash when outdoors, unless swimming in the lake. You must also clean-up after all dog guests, keep them off the indoor furniture and beds and keep them from visiting neighboring properties. No cats please. There is a public beach with deep water for swimming just across the way reachable by boat/kayak/car. Summers in Maine are fantastic, you always want to be outdoors! There is well-lit dock, and kayaks, life jackets, and floaties that are available for guest use (at your own risk.) The backyard has a firepit, grill, and a hammock, and you can take in the beautiful views of the lake from the wraparound deck with a screened porch. All 3 bedrooms have new carpet and bedding is provided so the house comfortably sleeps 6-7 adults and up to 9 people total including children. The two bedrooms upstairs each have a queen size bed, and the bedroom downstairs has full bunk beds with a twin trundle. The top bunk supports up to 400 lbs but is more comfortable for kids or teens. The kitchen features new appliances, lots of counter space, and is fully stocked with all the essentials, including microwave, coffee maker, pots/pans/dishes, and lobster pot! Dining room seats 8. The living room has a fireplace, Smart TV, and fuzzy blankets – perfect for snuggling up in the fall and winter, if your visit brings you up for the gorgeous fall foliage or a winter getaway. Downstairs has a finished basement with a playroom including a leather couch, giant beanbag, and big screen TV (with a DVD player, Amazon firestick, and surround sound) as well as a newly felted pool table, dartboard and board games. The playroom has direct access to the backyard and lake via sliding glass doors. There is a pack 'n' play crib/changing table for young ones. Thompson Lake is a diamond in the rough – it is quieter and more family friendly than the busier Sebago and Long Lakes with all of the same great activities. If you’re looking for a livelier evening you can hop down to Bridgton, Casco, or Naples, they are all a short drive away and have fun restaurants, bars, and shops. The other bedroom wing contains the sunny corner bedroom with queen bed and water views. The kids room has two twin beds. There is also a full bath with tub/shower on this side of the house. All the rooms have linens and colorful quilts. The upper level has an open sleep loft which has 2 twin sized beds. In the living room there is cable TV, DVD, Wi-Fi and plenty of books and board games. The center piece of the room is the hand-picked stone fireplace and wood-beamed cathedral ceilings. Unfortunately we are not permitted to use the fireplace. The cathedral ceilings and glass bring a lot of light into the house. In front of the house facing the lake, the huge deck runs the expanse of the house. There is a gas grill and patio furniture. We have the perfect view to enjoy the sunrise in the morning. We also have an observation deck on a rock that juts over the water. It has been a lucky fishing spot for some! We share a small beach with the neighboring house. It is a nice place to take small children to make sand castles or play in the water. There is deep water in front of the house which is perfect for swimming. There are two kayaks which can be used. We also have many floating chairs, blow up rafts and other beach toys. This house will not include a boat for access so it will be necessary to either rent or bring your own. There are reasonable boat rentals available at Thompson Lake Marina. They also have a boat launch and slips available for rent. You can also rent jet skis, sail boards, pontoon & speed boats and all sorts of equipment for tubing. We always enjoy renting from them and tubing or going out for a sunset cruise. This clear spring-fed lake makes an ideal place for swimming, boating, water skiing, paddle boarding, sailing, canoeing, tubing and kayaking. Its deep clear water, many lagoons and coves makes it favorite location for fishermen. Thompson Lake is one the cleanest most serene lakes in all of Maine. Birch Island is a unique and beautiful setting where you can relax and enjoy the views of the lake and even on a clear day, Mount Washington. Listen to the loons, see turtles in the lagoon or possibly spot an eagle. During the July 4th, enjoy the fireworks on the lake and in the distance, from Oxford Speedway. On the mainland there are dirt roads which are fun for mountain bikes. For parking, we have 2 parking spots on the mainland and dock for 1 boat. On the island, we have a dock which can fit two average sized boats.

This is a studio arrangement with a lake view living area, a QUEEN size bed, pull out queen sofa, and a pull-out twin bed, fully equipped eat-in kitchen (no dishwasher), clean bathroom, with stand up shower. Suitable for a couple, or close friends. The cottage was recently painted and outfitted with an assortment of new and antique furnishings. It's very clean and very quiet. The feature we all look for foremost is proximity to the water and accessibility. This home has it all. It faces south-east and is drenched in sunlight from the moment the sunrises to mid/late afternoon. There are beautiful, unobstructed views of the lake, nearly level lot- no steep steps or high embankments. There is a gradual grade to your own private sandy beach. Enjoy the 56ft dock where you will find a small aluminum row boat , great for fishing or just checking the lake out. You will also find kayaks, an Old Town canoe and a stand up paddle board to cruise around and enjoy the sun and water. Life vests are supplied for children and adults. They are required in the state of Maine. When you are done playing in the water, have lunch or refreshing beverage at the outdoor bar on the patio. Or just take a snooze in the hammock. We have outdoor games such as Bocce or bean toss . We abut a seasonal camp ground. The same people are there all season long. This is not an isolated location as there are neighbors in fairly close proximity as with many waterfront communities, but is an excellent waterfront location. There are safe dirt roads for the kids to ride bikes and several hundred feet away is the Hemlock camp general store. Convenient if you forgot an item or two or just go down to get a snack. We cater to the family vacation and not large groups. When you step inside this cottage everywhere you look will remind you that you are in Maine. From lighthouses to Loons, bears and moose there is no doubt where you are. Fishing décor is present throughout the house as it is a very popular past time on Tripp Pond all year round. For those interested in fishing the lake is very shallow and is a warm water lake. It is phenomenal for Bass fishing. The kitchen is a large open concept area with plenty of storage and work area. The kitchen is very well appointed with utensils, dishware, pots and pans, and newer small appliances. The oven is gas and there is a full size refrigerator which is 1 of 2. (the other is in the utility building just outside the house). A water dispenser is also supplied for your cooking and drinking needs. The house water is drawn from the lake and is not meant for consumption. The Kitchen extends to the dining area near the large windows overlooking the lake. The dining table is custom made pine post furniture that is present throughout the cottage. The living area is cozy, has a tongue and groove pine ceiling and a sliding glass door to the patio area. Large windows also overlook the lake. The bathroom is on the first floor (shower/ no tub). There is also a second half bath in the outdoor utility building, great for your needs when on the beach or for emergencies. There is a bedroom on the first floor. It has bunk beds with a twin upper and a full size lower bunk. There is also a roll-away bed in this room. Upstairs there are two bedrooms. The main bedroom has a beautiful rustic pine post Queen size canopy bed. Large windows afford you a great view of the lake and the sunrises. The second bedroom has a rustic pine post Full size four post bed. It offers the same great views of the first bedroom. If the weather is less than ideal we have several board and card games. You will also find a DVD player and a VCR. We do have a small library of DVD and VHS movies, but feel free to bring your own.

This home is perfect for family summer vacations or winter fun. Kayaking, paddle boarding or boating when its warm and skiing at many well known resorts (within 30-90 min) when the snow flies. In between all of that fun is hiking and biking in the spring and summer, shopping in Freeport or Portland (45 min), antiquing in many quaint spots or just reading a book in a quiet spot on the deck with coffee or a glass of wine... depending on the time of day! Walking in the door you will certainly feel like you are in a lake home. Taking a few steps further you realize that it is a very special spot. Fully equipped kitchen with granite counters and SS appliances. The eat in kitchen area has a beautiful view of the lake and a table that seats 6 comfortably but we have chairs to seat more. A well appointed bathroom, although small, includes a small chandelier to make the spot more serene. Comfortable bedrooms with cheerful spreads and plenty of storage. An unfinished basement with full washer and dryer makes coming home from vacation without loads of laundry needing attention a real possibility. The one thing that we enjoyed about our place, especially when the kids were little, was the ample lawn area for them to play. We have had volleyball courts set up, bocci ball, crochet, corn hole and the list goes on. We also valued the road being private and posted for 15MPH speed limit so riding a bike is very safe. Grilling in the yard with the large gas grill or smaller charcoal grill is easy or you could start a fire in the outdoor fire pit and roast hot dogs on a stick. We have a beautifully-decorated 4-Bedroom home with 3 BRs in the main house and a separate in-law flat offering plenty of privacy when getting the whole family together. The home has a wonderful flat lawn that gently slope to a gorgeous beach and a private 149 foot dock. There are plenty of water recreation toys to explore beautiful Crescent Lake. The fishing in the lake is amazing with large and small mouth bass, pickerel, brown trout, land-locked salmon and pumpkin seed. The kids can throw a line in right off the dock. If you have a boat, you can dock it there all week to thoroughly enjoy the lake. The wonderful thing about this property is that it is quiet and private but close to everything. Only 45 minutes from Portland and its airport and 140 miles from Boston. There is plenty to do in the area and plenty of grocery stores and other options to stock up for a family event. There are many of great restaurants in the area, a variety of festivals as well as terrific hiking trails. It is easy to pop into Portland for hip restaurants as well or a Portland Seadogs game. The home is laid out with ample seating for large family gatherings as well as a game/entertainment room for the kids (and adult kids!) There is a large screened porch to enjoy the evenings and listen to the loons. There is room enough in this 4400 Sq Ft home for your family to spread out and get a restful night night sleep and not feel as though you are piled on-top of each other. There are fishing rods in the garage as well. 2 kids' bikes and a basketball hoop is on site as well as a huge lawn with your own private beach. A brand new 149 dock stretches out into the lake and there is a private swimming raft for the kids and adults. Plenty of outdoor games like croquet stored in the garage as well as sand toys for the little ones. The home is idyllic with every bedroom in the main house facing the lake...plenty of room for a family and friend get-together. Although Crescent Lake is quiet, we are in close proximity to music festivals and fairs, shopping in Windham and also a quick trip to Portland to try some of its 389 restaurants and breweries. These are scary times and we want you to have as safe a vacation as possible so are doing everything we can to stop the spread the COVID-19. The biggest thing we can offer you in the way of protection is that we hare blocking out 5 days between bookings since scientists say the maximum amount of time the virus survives on surfaces is 5 days. We have a host of other precautions that we are happy to share with you, but this is the biggest and the most foolproof. Also, if you are travelling from out-of-state, we want you to know that Maine had a 14-day quarantine period for out-of-staters. We can discuss with you how you can still survive and get groceries (and have a wonderful time!) in quarantine at Blueberry Cove Cottage. The aframe cottege home is just three-eights of a mile from the main road (RT-85), along with only three other private homes. There is plenty of parking space available. It's a fantastic location for couples or families with small children to reconnect. We supply your family with a canoe and two ride on kayaks. The second floor has 2 BR, plus a 3rd Floor sleeping loft for 2 with two twin size beds. The living room has a sleep Sofa and Child's Screened Sleeping Porch has a Bunk Bed which accommodates two children. The A-Frame has under gone major renovations in the spring of 2010 and 2011. The roof is new, the deck and railing is all new, all the windows have been replaced with double hung windows for better ventilation and viewing out. The Loft has all new pine paneling. The bunk beds in the loft have been replaced with larger twin beds. New wall to wall carpeting in the first floor, second floor and the Loft. Best of all we remodeled the bathroom. The tub and shower are all new. We have added a bunk bed on the side sleeping porch and have received many kudos from the kids. The whole A-frame has been resided and painted. The second floor offers a master bedroom with a queen-size bed and lake view, and an open second bedroom with two twin beds. The third-floor loft has two twin beds. (The loft is not recommended for small children due to the steepness of the staircase leading up to it.) This lakefront summer vacation rental offers fun for every member of your family. The sandy beach allows for a shallow entry into the lake. The L-shaped dock can accommodate your own 18-foot boat. Included in this summer rental is a 17-foot canoe and two Kayaks. We also provide a mooring bouy to park your own larger water craft. There is a outdoor fireplace to gather around while toasting marshmallows in the evenings. The swimming in the clean, clear water is wonderful. The kids will enjoy the swim platform! And our well water is good to drink. Bring your fishing gear, the fishing is great! Many bass tournaments are held during the year. We have two small motorboats available to rent. The lake and local area is wonderful for hiking, canoeing, swimming, fishing, or just plain relaxing.
